Knorr TV commercial for DDB.
Paradox films shot two commercials for Shower to Shower as well as a commercial for Playgirl on my Sony F55. We shot mostly in 4K RAW and final grade was done in Baselight with Blade. Off-speed footage was shot in XAVC as HFR was not yet available on the AXS-R5.
Two music video for local artist “Anais” were shot with Directors of Illusion. Here are a few images and screen captures from that shoot. The video was shot in an old theatre in Pretoria. All the seating has been removed and it is now being used as a carpark. We had very limited time to shoot this video as the band had to travel to a show early the next morning. We overcame this by shooting on 4 cameras at the same time. The Sony F55, Blackmagic Cinema camera, the Panasonic HPX250 and the Nikon D800 were all used. We shot the footage at 50fps as the band mimed to a track that was playing at double speed giving us the slomo effect in the hair and moving material while keeping the sync. Credit goes to the guys at Ministry of Illusion for the fantastic graphics and post production.
One of South Africa’s top mountain bike competitors, Phillip Buys, approached Directors of Illusion to produce a video for an event. We spent a few days in Pietermaritzburg shooting on the F55. Phillip represented South Africa in the London Olympics and it was an inspiration to work with him.
Agency, Mortimer Harvey, have now produced two TV commercials for client “Emperors Palace” on the Sony F55 with me. Most of the scenes are shot using only available light and the F55 does that superbly. Beatiful girls are also often in front of my lens with this client and the F55 makes them look fantastic!
