BMW X1, X3, X5 and X6 launch on P2 HD
November 10th, 2010BMW have just launched the latest version of the X-range using Panasonic P2 HD. The video produced by Omage and Paradox films made use of a variety of locations to show off the best of each of the models.
Director, Stephen Patterson and his Producer, Colleen Neville, managed to source some amazing locations which were in line with the BMW brand and CI. Mr Bill Harrop and his hot air balloon make a guest appearence in the X3 section of the launch.
Studio shots were treated in a novel way where crew were shown making the video, and the emotion further driven by the director’s thoughts in voice over. Due to the the fact that cameras were seen in shot we obviously required more than one camera. Specialised mounted cameras and minicameras were also required bringing the count to four Panasonic cameras on set. We are proud to have sponsored the additional cameras on this production as we believe the end results will be worthy of an award or two!
The Panasonic HCK10 mini HD camera was used for the first time on a car shoot during this production. Shooting interiors on this camera opened up a host of new angles for the director. The camera was mounted on a 4 foot extention to the dolly enabling us to do tracking shots inside the vehicle. Everyone was amazed by the quality of the tiny HD camera.
